Thomas Persson

Thomas Persson has had a long career as an ICA buyer. He started in 1988 and currently runs the ICA supermarket in Osby, Sweden. Thomas’s passion for food and wine has taken him on countless journeys around the world, giving him extensive knowledge in the field.

Dennis Bach Groth: A Journey Through Wine, Art, and Identity

Welcome to the world of Dennis Bach Groth—a fascinating journey that weaves through Italian vineyards, the intensity of life, and the expressiveness of painting. Many know him as a wine expert, a “traveler” who has left his mark on both the Italian and Danish wine worlds. His adventure began in 2009 when he moved to Italy with no job security. This leap of faith led to a school course in Arezzo and, subsequently, to over ten years of experience in the agricultural and wine sectors across Tuscany, Sicily, and finally, Veneto. Until 2020, he worked as the sales manager for the renowned winery Castello di Roncade in Veneto, a role that took him on many exciting journeys around the world.

But there is much more to his story; an artistic side that has begun to take shape, which now finds its home here, in his shop and wine bar, GPwineshop by Groth & Persson in Copenhagen.

The Story Behind GPwineshop

The friendship between Thomas and Dennis began in 2013, when Thomas and a group of Swedish entrepreneurs visited the province of Treviso to learn about the traditions behind the area’s products. The trip included a visit to the Castello di Roncade winery, where Dennis Bach Groth, the sales manager at the time, welcomed them. The two went on to found the company Groth & Persson and, in addition to selling wine, they run a wine bar and provide consulting services to wine producers. Together, they represent a unique wealth of knowledge in the sector, with the primary goal of always guaranteeing customers the best products at the right price.
