Hello wine and art lovers, On Saturday, September 12th at 16:00, I am opening the doors of GPwineshop for a very special and personal event. I would love to invite you on a sensory journey where we combine the best of two worlds: wine and art. We will taste 6 carefully selected wines, and alongside, owner and artist Dennis Bach Groth will share the stories behind 6 of his own paintings. Every glass and every canvas holds Dennis' own stories, memories, and flavors from his 10 fantastic years in Italy. It’s going to be an intimate afternoon filled with great atmosphere, wonderful stories, and of course, fantastic drops in our glasses. (Get a sneak peek of the vibe in the video here!) Limited seats! A Journey Through Wine, Art, and Identity in Copenhagen

In the heart of Copenhagen, on the dark and somewhat overlooked street of Kattesundet—where people usually hurry past—we chose to open our shop and wine bar. It was a risky choice, but nothing in life needs to be easy. We truly believe that this part of Copenhagen needs a niche spot like ours, somewhere that stands out from the generic chain cafés and multi-bars serving a bit of everything.

In this space, we want to share the story of Dennis Bach Groth—a fascinating journey that weaves through Italian vineyards, the intensity of life, and the expressiveness of painting. Many know him as a wine expert, a “traveler” who has left his mark on both the Italian and Danish wine worlds. His adventure began in 2009 when he moved to Italy with no job security. This leap of faith led to a school course in Arezzo and, subsequently, to over ten years of experience in the agricultural and wine sectors across Tuscany, Sicily, and finally, Veneto. Until 2020, he worked as the sales manager for the renowned winery Castello di Roncade in Veneto, a role that took him on many exciting journeys around the world.

In our wine bar, you can taste the products we import ourselves, often from the very same wineries Dennis worked with in Italy. But his story is much more than that; there is an artistic side that has begun to take shape, which now finds its home here in his shop and wine bar, GPwineshop by Groth & Persson—where art and wine unite to tell a truly unique story.
