Organic Sangiovese aged in concrete eggs. Purity from concrete: A modern interpretation of Radda.
With “Nuovo” (meaning “new”), Poggerino challenges the traditional boundaries of Chianti Classico without compromising its unique terroir in Radda. Crafted from 100% organic Sangiovese, this wine is aged in custom-made, egg-shaped concrete tanks instead of traditional oak barrels. The natural shape of the “egg” creates a continuous, gentle circulation of the lees, giving the wine fantastic texture and structure—completely free from wood influence.
Focus on Fruit, Energy, and Minerality
Because the wine never touches oak, it picks up no notes of vanilla or toast. Instead, you get the raw, unadulterated expression of Poggerino’s stony galestro soil. This is Chianti Classico in its purest and most energetic form, where the vibrant acidity and crisp minerality of Radda’s cool high altitudes truly sing.
