Sicilian Elegance with Exceptional Vibrancy
While many associate Sicily with heavy and dark red wines, “Fawarah” Nerello Mascalese showcases a completely different, aristocratic side of the island’s wine production. The grape, which is native to the island’s volcanic slopes, thrives in Romano Vini’s organic vineyards in the Palermo province. The combination of limestone-rich soil and marked temperature differences between day and night results in a red wine with exceptional freshness, fine tannins, and a crisp, lively character.
Focus on Pure Fruit and Balance
Romano Vini treats this delicate grape with the utmost care. Following a gentle manual harvest, the must ferments in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks with precise maceration to extract only the finest, most elegant tannins. The wine matures exclusively in steel to keep the grape’s unique primary fruit character and crisp acidity intact, resulting in an extremely juicy, pure, and easy-drinking red wine.
