Sicilian Bubbles with an Organic Heart
With “Gaia” Spumante, Romano Vini proves that Sicily can also produce sparkling wines of exceptionally high quality and immense charm. The grapes are cultivated according to certified organic principles in the hilly landscapes of northwestern Sicily. Here, the vines benefit from warm sunny days and cool breezes from the Mediterranean Sea at night—the perfect recipe for preserving the grapes’ vital freshness and fruity aromas.
The Charmat Method: Focus on Freshness and Fruit
The wine is crafted using the traditional Charmat method (tank method), where the secondary fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel pressure tanks. This process helps preserve the wine’s direct, primary fruit notes and creates fine, lively bubbles (perlage). As an “Extra Dry” sparkling wine, it strikes a brilliant balance between a subtle, rounded fruit sweetness and a crisp, cleansing acidity, making it incredibly harmonious and easy to enjoy.
