Sicilian Soul and Coastal Minerality
“PrimeLuci” is a tribute to the moment when the first rays of sunlight hit Romano Vini’s beautiful, organic vineyards in northwestern Sicily. The Grillo grape is the island’s undisputed king when it comes to delivering white wines with immense character and freshness. Thanks to the limestone-rich soil and the constant, cooling sea breeze from the Mediterranean, the grapes develop an intense aromatic profile that combines juicy fruit with a fantastic, salty minerality.
Temperature-Controlled Steel Vinification for Maximum Crispness
To preserve the Grillo grape’s famous crispness and vibrant energy, the grapes are harvested gently in the early, cool morning hours. After a gentle pressing, the wine ferments and ages exclusively in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks. Romano Vini deliberately avoids oak aging for this wine to ensure it remains as pure, crisp, and authentic as possible, focusing on its lively acidity and primary fruit notes.
Tasting Notes
-
Color: Light straw yellow with beautiful, vibrant greenish reflections.
-
Nose: Intense, fresh, and marine-inflected. The nose opens with crisp aromas of green apples, white peach, and plenty of citrus (lemon and juicy grapefruit), beautifully complemented by subtle undertones of crushed limestone, sage, and Mediterranean herbs.
-
Palate: Extremely fresh, slender, and invigorating on the palate. The wine delivers a wonderful wave of citrus fruit supported by a striking, pulsating acidity. The finish is long, clean, and leaves a characteristic salty, palate-cleansing minerality that makes it remarkably gastronomic.
