An Exceptional Terroir from a Unique “Cru” in Veneto
Venum originates from the sunny and fertile microclimate of Terre di Grassaga, where the soil consists of an ideal combination of clay and the characteristic, calcium-rich “caranto”. The winery produces this wine only in the absolute best vintages, ensuring uncompromising quality. Venum is crafted from a carefully selected blend of Sagrantino, Merlot, and Cabernet grapes, combining power, structure, and world-class elegance.
Long-Term Aging in Oak and Cherry Wood
After a meticulous destemming and maceration, the wine undergoes an initial fermentation in traditional enameled concrete tanks for approximately 12 months. Venum then ages for an additional 12 months in smaller casks (botticelle and tonneaux) made of both oak and cherry wood, before finishing with a full 24 months of bottle aging. This complex process integrates the tannins perfectly, imparting a captivating depth and excellent longevity to the wine.
